About Dragons Martial Arts Association
Derbyshire Dragons (DD), the dream of Chief Instructor Mr Tim Watkins 5th Degree started in March 2002. In its short life, this progressive club has grown phenomenally, around 500 students now train regularly. Classes are also taken by Mrs Janice Watkins 4th Degree, Mrs Julie Harbon 4th Degree, and Mr Richard Walker 3rd Degree.
We put the success of the association so far down to the friendly environment of the classes. Individuals, groups of friends, families are all welcome. Students are able to learn at their own pace, and enjoy themselves while individual goals are attained – this doesn’t mean we take it easy, students and instructors work hard - you just don’t notice it so much when you like what you do.
All Instructors and Assistant Instructors are qualified, insured, trained first aiders and work within the DD child protection policy. Every effort is made to ensure a safe happy training environment is maintained.
DD is affiliated to international (training / governing) bodies for both Taekwon-Do and Kickboxing which helps to guarantee the quality of instruction provided, but also widens the arena for anyone who has an interest in competing in the many competitions available.
